Kevin Burke
Kevin Burke is one of the finest living Irish fiddlers.
Born in London to Sligo parents in 1950, he has been at the forefront of traditional Irish music for over 50 years.
He has performed and recorded with many of the seminal acts in the history of the genre including The Bothy Band, Patrick Street and Andy Irvine & Paul Brady
In 2002 he was awarded a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the highest honour given in the United States for folk and traditional arts.
In 2016, Kevin Burke was awarded the "Gradam Ceoil" (Musician of the Year) in the traditional-music awards presented by TG4.
As well as being one of our great fiddle players he is also great craic and has played at many Fiddle Fairs over the years since his debut in McCarthy's Bar back in 19997. We really couldn't have this anniversary without him.
