Mossie Martin from Roscommon and Kerryman Leonard Barry both now live in Sligo and are a big part of the vibrant music scene in the area. Having first met and played together in Australia almost 20 years ago, they struck up a musical partnership again when Leonard and his family moved to Sligo in 2014.

They have performed at numerous festivals at home and abroad and between them they have shared the stage and recorded with many musical greats including Kevin Burke, Dervish, Lunasa, John Spillane, Lisa O’Neill, The Dartry Ceili Band and a host of others.

Mossie’s style is rooted in the great North Connaught tradition reflecting the the past and current prominent musicians of the area from Michael Coleman, Paddy Killoran, Josie McDermott to Patsy Hanley, John Carty amongst others.  In 2019 he released his extremely well received solo album “The Humours of Derrycrossan” which featured John Blake as well as members of his family.

Leonard released his last solo CD in 2013 entitled “New Road” which led to the formation of the band of the same name with Rick Epping, Seamie O’Dowd and Andy Morrow and they have released one CD in 2016 entitled “Stone Walls and Street Lights”. More recently Leonard featured on the Kevin Burke’s latest solo recording “Sligo Made.

Their performances reflect their vast experience and repertoire, ranging from old favourites to new music and rare pieces which are being reintroduced to the tradition.
