Adam Sutherland and Marc Clement + Live Podcast
Highland Fiddler Adam Sutherland is one of Scotland's most successful fiddlers and tune writers. Many of his ludicrously addictive melodies crop up in sessions and youtube videos all the way from Cape Breton to Korea. Adam has been nominated for the The MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 'Composer of the Year' award three times in the past, before scooping the title in 2017. He has appeared in many well known bands over his twenty year career such as Session A9, Treacherous Orchestra, Peatbog Faeries Nae Plans and more recently with his own sextet.
He aslo runs his own very popular podcast; 'Adam Sutherland's Interesting People' where he chats to well known folk musicians about their love of music and their own unique life experience. At this years Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow, he recorded two live podcasts in front of a thoroughly engrossed audience who were thrilled to learn, for example, what Duncan Chisholm thinks about when performing one of his gorgeous slow airs.
There is an appetite to learn more about the people behind the music, and Adam is able to deftly guide the conversation, much to the delight of the listener.
We thrilled that he will host the first ever Fiddle Fair live podcast this afternoon where he will chat to our Sliabh Luachra Musician in Residence Eoin O'Sullivan and more of our visiting fiddlers.
